The engine

EcoBoost

2.0L Turbo I4 Hybrid

A turbocharged four paired with an electric motor for a combined 310 hp, tuned for quiet, refined low-end pull rather than outright speed, with the electric assist smoothing throttle response. It suits the Nautilus' luxury brief.

Built by Ford for its Lincoln brand, the engine descends from Ford's 2.0-liter EcoBoost family, here married to a full hybrid system with a CVT and standard all-wheel drive.

The full-hybrid setup adds a roughly 100-kW (134-hp) electric motor and uses a continuously variable transmission, unlike the conventional automatics in non-hybrid Nautilus trims.
Unlike a mild hybrid, this system can move the SUV on electric power alone at low speeds, returning an EPA-estimated 30 mpg combined.
