The engine

Twin-Turbo V8

A thunderous, deep-chested twin-turbo V8 that gives the Urus brutal, immediate shove and a surprisingly aggressive bark for an SUV powerplant.

A heavily reworked version of the Volkswagen Group's second-generation EA825 4.0 TFSI V8, shared with the Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Bentayga and Audi RS models on the MLB Evo platform.

Lamborghini reworked the shared VW Group V8 with new cylinder heads, lifting output roughly 100 PS above the Porsche Cayenne Turbo that uses the same base engine.
The turbochargers sit in the 'hot vee' between the cylinder banks, a packaging trick that sharpens throttle response.
It was Lamborghini's first turbocharged V8 and first V8 in a production model in decades, breaking from the brand's naturally aspirated tradition.
