The engine

3.0L Twin-Turbo V6

Twin-Turbo V6

A 60-degree twin-turbo V6 that gives the Ghibli and Levante a refined, muscular surge with the throaty Maserati voice, building boost smoothly through the mid-range.

Designed and hand-assembled by Ferrari in Maranello, this engine uses a block based on the Chrysler Pentastar architecture extensively reworked, a product of Maserati's Fiat-Chrysler-era partnership.

Despite both being built by Ferrari, this engine is unrelated to Alfa Romeo's V6: Maserati's is a 60-degree design while Alfa's is a 90-degree unit.
It uses one turbocharger per cylinder bank rather than a single turbo.
Ferrari built these engines for Maserati at Maranello, the same plant that produces Ferrari's own road-car engines.
