Two electric motors fill in for the turbo four, giving 375 hp and 470 lb-ft with instant, silent torque that's ideal for crawling trails in all-electric mode. The combination delivers muscular response while letting the Wrangler tackle obstacles without engine noise.

Launched for 2021, the 4xe was Jeep's first plug-in hybrid, with production beginning in 2020. It pairs Stellantis's global turbocharged 2.0-liter four with a two-motor hybrid system, and the Wrangler chassis was engineered from the outset to package the battery.

• It uses a P0 belt-driven motor-generator at the front of the engine plus a P2 motor inside the transmission, rather than a single hybrid motor.
