Part of Jaguar Land Rover's modular Ingenium engine family, the inline-six mild-hybrid was introduced in 2019 and designed and built in-house, manufactured at JLR's Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, UK.

• It pairs a conventional twin-scroll turbo with a 48-volt electric supercharger that spins to 120,000 rpm and spools fully in about 0.5 seconds to kill turbo lag.
• A 48-volt belt-integrated starter generator recovers braking energy into a small lithium-ion battery to smooth stop-start and add torque fill.
• It uses high-pressure 250-bar direct injection and continuously variable intake valve lift for efficiency.
