Twin-Turbo V6 Hybrid

This twin-turbo V6 with an integrated electric motor serves up massive low-end torque that fills in instantly off-idle, giving the Land Cruiser and Sequoia muscular, V8-replacing pulling power.

A member of Toyota's Dynamic Force family and internally the V35A-FTS, it was the first turbocharged V-engine in Toyota's history when it debuted in the 2017 Lexus LS 500, and was engineered to retire the long-serving 5.7-liter V8.

Its arrival let Toyota and Lexus phase out their V8s entirely across the truck and big-SUV range.
The hybrid system's electric motor sits between the engine and transmission and is fed by a compact nickel-metal-hydride battery topped up purely by the engine and regenerative braking, never plugged in.
Toyota issued a major recall after machining debris left in some engines during production caused premature wear.
