2.0L Variable-Compression Turbo I4

The world's first production variable-compression engine, it continuously morphs between an efficient high-compression mode and a powerful low-compression mode, delivering V6-like output with four-cylinder economy.

More than 20 years in the making at Nissan-Infiniti, the VC-Turbo made its production debut in the 2019 QX50 crossover.

A multi-link mechanism with an electric Harmonic Drive actuator continuously varies compression anywhere from 8:1 for performance to 14:1 for efficiency.
In front-drive form it delivered roughly a 35 percent fuel-efficiency improvement over the V6 it replaced in the previous QX50.
