Nano

Twin-Turbo V6

A compact twin-turbo six that punches far above its size, delivering big mid-range torque that made it feel like a small V8 in trucks and SUVs. Its modest displacement masks a genuinely muscular, responsive character.

Co-developed with German firm FEV and built at Ford's Lima Engine Plant in Ohio, the 'Nano' debuted in the 2015 F-150, ushering in Ford's turbocharged-truck era.

Its upper cylinder block is made of compacted graphite iron, the same tough material Ford uses in its 6.7L Power Stroke diesel, paired with a die-cast aluminum lower frame.
The 'composite' block architecture was borrowed from Ford's V-diesel designs, allowing a lower, more compact profile than a conventional engine.
