LT4

Supercharged V8

A supercharged pushrod V8 with savage, instantly available torque and a menacing supercharger whine layered over a deep American V8 rumble.

The LT4 debuted in the 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 before powering the Camaro ZL1, Cadillac CTS-V and CT5-V Blackwing, carrying GM's small-block legacy into the supercharged era.

It uses a compact 1.7-liter Eaton R1740 supercharger nestled in the engine valley, keeping the package small enough to fit a low Corvette hood.
Chevrolet built the final Camaro ZL1's LT4 in December 2023, ending the sixth-generation Camaro and its supercharged run.
Despite its modern direct injection and supercharging, the LT4 retains an old-school pushrod, two-valve design rather than overhead cams.
