The verdict

What's good

  • Supercapacitor hybrid provides instant torque boost without the weight of a battery pack
  • Only 19 roadsters built, guaranteeing permanent rarity and rising collector value
  • Open top with the V12-hybrid powertrain creates an unmatched sensory driving experience
  • ALA aerodynamics actively manage stability at high speeds without fixed wing drag

What's not

  • Extremely limited Lamborghini factory service access required for any meaningful work
  • Supercapacitor system provides minimal EV-only range and no meaningful fuel economy benefit
  • Roadster roofline adds slight structural compliance compared to the coupe Sian FKP 37
  • Heat from the naturally aspirated V12 in slow traffic is significant and cabin-felt

The engine

L539

NA V12 + Supercapacitor Hybrid

The last great naturally aspirated Lamborghini V12, screaming to 8,500 rpm with the brand's trademark linear, ferocious top-end. A 48-volt motor fills torque gaps and smooths shifts rather than acting as a primary power source.

The L539 V12 was developed in-house at Sant'Agata Bolognese, debuting in the 2011 Aventador as only the second all-new V12 in Lamborghini's history; the Sián adapts the Aventador SVJ's version with revised intake and ECU.
