2.4L Turbo I4 Hybrid

A turbo-four-plus-motor truck powertrain that sandwiches an electric motor inside the transmission for low-end, diesel-like torque off the line. It gives the midsize Tacoma muscular pulling power and instant throttle response.

Sharing the Dynamic Force T24A-FTS four-cylinder, this is the hybrid 'i-FORCE MAX' powertrain that arrived with the fourth-generation 2024 Tacoma.

In the Tacoma the system produces 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, the most of any Tacoma ever.
The same twin-scroll-turbo four also serves in Toyota's larger Tundra and Sequoia, scaling a single four-cylinder family across the truck lineup.
The hybrid motor is integrated directly into the bellhousing, so the electric assist is delivered through the standard automatic transmission.
