The EX90 is the first Volvo built on the bespoke SPA2 electric platform and serves as the electric sibling to the XC90 flagship SUV.

• Both axles use permanent-magnet synchronous motors, and the rear unit can decouple from the driveline when coasting to save energy.
• The roughly 111 kWh battery pack is supplied by China's CATL, the world's largest battery maker.
• As Volvo's first ground-up bespoke EV, the EX90 marked a clean break from the brand's earlier electrified cars that shared platforms with combustion models.
