Quad-Motor

Quad-Motor Electric

Four independent motors, one per wheel, deliver supercar-baiting acceleration and true torque vectoring that can spin the truck in place or meter power to each tire for precise off-road control.

Developed in-house by Rivian, the American EV startup, the quad-motor system underpins the R1T pickup and R1S SUV on Rivian's skateboard platform, with a later in-house 'Enduro' dual-motor unit created to ease semiconductor supply constraints.
