A single front-mounted motor gives the electric Mini its trademark eager, instant-torque go-kart feel in a compact city package. Drive is to the front wheels, tuned for nimble urban responsiveness rather than straight-line ferocity.

The electric Cooper and Aceman ride on BMW Group's modular EV architecture and are built in China by Spotlight Automotive, a 50:50 BMW–Great Wall Motor joint venture.

The Aceman E makes 181 hp and 213 lb-ft from a single motor, with the larger-battery SE rated up to 252 miles WLTP.
Both the Cooper Electric and Aceman are front-wheel drive, keeping the classic Mini layout in electric form.
The Aceman slots as an all-new electric-only crossover with no combustion equivalent in the lineup.
