Three 300 kW motors give the GranTurismo Folgore brutal, four-wheel-clawing thrust delivered in eerie silence, with torque vectoring across both rear wheels for surgically sharp cornering rather than just straight-line shove.
Maserati's first all-electric models wear the 'Folgore' (Italian for 'lightning') sub-brand and ride on an 800V architecture; the e-motors are supplied by Italian engineering house Marelli, keeping the powertrain's roots close to home in Italy.
The powertrain leans on Formula E-derived technology, including silicon carbide inverters for higher efficiency at high voltage.
Despite three motors, the battery is mounted in a 'T-bone' layout so the cabin keeps a low seating position rather than the raised floor common to skateboard EVs.
On a 270 kW DC charger it can claw back roughly 62 miles of range in about five minutes.
