A single-motor setup tuned for efficient, refined cruising rather than drama, with the smooth instant torque and one-speed seamlessness expected of a modern EV.

The Ioniq 5 was the first vehicle built on Hyundai's dedicated 800-volt E-GMP platform, while the Kona Electric is a converted version of a combustion model, representing two different chapters of Hyundai's EV strategy.

• The E-GMP-based Ioniq 5 supports Vehicle-to-Load, letting it power external devices or appliances at up to 3.6 kW from its own battery.
• Thanks to its 800-volt architecture, the Ioniq 5 can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 18 minutes on a 350 kW charger.
• The Kona Electric and Ioniq 5 differ fundamentally: one is a combustion car adapted for batteries, the other a purpose-built EV.
