A spine-tingling naturally aspirated flat-six that climbs to a 9,000-rpm redline with a hard, race-car wail, delivering its power right at the top where it demands to be wrung out.
This 992-generation 4.0-liter flat-six was developed by Porsche's GT motorsport engineers for racing first and adapted for the road, and is essentially the same unit found in the 911 Cup race car. It is not the older Hans Mezger-designed engine, but its modern successor.
