A turbo-four hybrid that blends instant low-end torque with electric assist for a brisk, refined surge, giving the three-row TX genuinely sporty performance for its size.
Built around Toyota/Lexus's T24A-FTS turbo four from the Dynamic Force family, mated to Lexus's hybrid system and DIRECT4 all-wheel drive in the TX 500h.
The system combines the turbo engine with two electric motors and a compact NiMH battery for a combined output around 366 hp.
Lexus's DIRECT4 all-wheel drive uses the electric motors to vary torque front-to-rear electronically for sharper handling.
