The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is Jeep's do-everything workhorse — flexible, durable, and happy to lug a Wrangler up a trail or cruise a Grand Cherokee, with broad, usable torque.

Launched in 2010 to replace a scattered lineup of older Chrysler V6s with one modern, efficient design, the Pentastar takes its name from the five-pointed Chrysler corporate star.

The 'Pentastar' name comes from Chrysler's old five-pointed-star logo.
One modern V6 replaced seven different older Chrysler-group six-cylinder engines.
