PowerBoost

Twin-Turbo V6 Hybrid

Ford's full-hybrid twist on its workhorse twin-turbo six: an electric motor tucked into the transmission fills in low-end torque while the EcoBoost V6 supplies the heavy lifting, blending strong towing with electric assist.

Built around the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that has powered F-150s and the Ford GT supercar's lineage, the PowerBoost adds a motor-in-transmission and an under-rear-seat lithium-ion pack.

Its Pro Power Onboard turns the truck into a rolling generator, with an optional 7.2-kW system that includes a 240-volt outlet for jobsite tools.
In generator mode it can idle and supply power for roughly 32 hours at full load, or up to about 85 hours on a tank under lighter draw.
The hybrid battery lives under the rear seats, preserving the full cargo bed and cabin space.
