The M20A is the four-cylinder Dynamic Force engine introduced in 2018 for the Corolla, sharing its clean-sheet TNGA design philosophy with the larger 2.5-liter A25A.

It runs a high 13.0:1 compression ratio for roughly 40% thermal efficiency, unusually high for a mainstream engine.
Like its bigger sibling it uses a laser-clad valve-seat and tumble-flow intake design borrowed from Toyota's efficiency research.
