The engine

392 HEMI

Naturally Aspirated V8

A naturally aspirated big-bore HEMI that trades the Hellcat's supercharger whine for an old-school, throaty roar and a muscular 485 hp delivered through a free-breathing top end. It feels relaxed yet thunderous, a classic American big-inch V8.

Built by Stellantis on the Gen III HEMI architecture and badged '392' after its 392-cubic-inch displacement, a number sacred to Chrysler since the legendary 1957 392 HEMI.

The '392' name is a direct nod to the original 1957 Chrysler 300C, which introduced a 392-cubic-inch HEMI making 375 hp; the 2023 300C revives both the displacement and the model name 66 years later.
The 2023 300C that used this engine was a 2,000-unit U.S. Final Edition, marketed as the last hurrah for the rear-drive V8 Chrysler 300.
It is the same family of 6.4 HEMI used in SRT Jeeps and Ram heavy-duty trucks, but tuned here for sedan refinement.
